{about joy}

Joy.

I am a wife, daughter, sister and friend.  On February 12, 2011 I became a mother to our daughter, Dylan Camellia.  I adore my handsome hubby, black coffee, naps, handwritten letters, romantic movies, board games, my adorable nephews, antiques, baking, storytelling (with photos), and all things arts and crafts. I love to travel, spend time with family, and laugh so hard it makes me cry.

Love.

I love love.  Sappy, maybe – but oh so true.   I enjoy capturing the emotion that comes with all of life’s joys.  My camera and I get to sneak into some of the most intimate moments of your life and capture those emotions forever. Love defines me and all that I am in my life, family, and in my job.   I truly love what I do because it gives me a chance to see love in your world for a moment.

Style.

I am a destination wedding and lifestyle photographer.  I am based in Nashville, but most of my weddings span the southeast…and beyond.  I love to travel, and enjoy shooting weddings in new places.  I am a huge fan of comfortable environments because that is where your true personality is able to shine.  I use a mix of traditional and lifestyle approaches which, together with my love of love, brings you a beautiful representation of your story.  I prefer natural light.  I encourage laughter.  I adore uneven lines and movement and details.  I want to capture your day full of emotions and details and all the special moments that make it yours.

LIFE.

My husband and daughter are my life.  I am beyond blessed that the LORD gave them to me.

Hi,Joy. I thoroughly enjoyed working with you this past week. You are welcome back to our church anytime! I love your website … especially the photos of your wedding/family. So, are your parents Billy & Annabeth?

Anyway, please be sure to let me know when you post the photos from the Carswell-Farmer wedding. I can’t wait to see them.

God bless you in your life and work.
